WHAT'S HAPPENING IN KASHMIR NOW?

This week, something very sad happened in Kashmir.

A group of tourists were attacked by gunmen in a

place called Pahalgam. Twenty-six people died and

many others were hurt. A group called Kashmir

Resistance said they did it. This has made a lot of

people scared and upset, not just in Kashmir, but all

over India and Pakistan.

After the attack, the Indian government got very

serious. They told Pakistani diplomats to leave and

also called their own people back from Pakistan.

India also said it will not follow the Indus Waters

Treaty for now, which is a very old agreement about

sharing river water. Pakistan was not happy about

this and said it could be seen as an act of war. Both

countries also stopped giving visas and closed

borders.

Now, many people are worried. Leaders from around

the world are asking India and Pakistan to stay calm

and not fight. The two countries have had problems

for many years, and this attack made things worse.

Everyone hopes they can talk and find peace, so that

people in Kashmir and both countries can live

without fear.
