LPU MODELS SHINE ON THE RUNWAY AT DESIGNER FASHION WEEK

 What is DFW?

 

   Designer Fashion Week or DFW is one of the biggest fashion events in New Delhi, showcasing collections from Indian Designers. The second edition took place on February 15 and 16 at the Tivoli Chatter Pur New Delhi-74, presented by Black Pearl and Ravi Rajoria.







Designers, models, and makeup artists are invited to participate in this event, which features a runway show with stunning collections. And the models of Lovely Professional University had the opportunity to participate in the event.

HOW TO BECOME A MODEL IN LPU?

Whoever are interested in modeling. LPU give their students a great chance to learn and grow in the field. Every students can do modeling while studying their regular courses, so the best part is that they do not have to choose between them. Therefore, every students can be a model freely without disturbing their studies. Anyone who wants to improve their skills and meet others who love modeling, they can immediately join the FASHION SOCIETY, which is located in the Block 13, Room N°410.

HOW THE FASHION SOCIETY SELECTS LPU MODELS FOR EVERY RUNWAY?

For this DFW event, the auditions for LPU students to walk the DFW runway took place on February 6th. Becoming a model is not just about looking good, it requires meeting strict requirements, especially for a major event like DFW.

For boys, the minimum height is 5'11, and they must have a strong, attractive presence along with prior modeling experience. For girls, the minimum height is 5'7, and they must also have a striking look and previous modeling experience. Only seven boys and seven girls should be selected, making the competition tough. Since everyone looked great, each participant had to give their best during the auditions. The models are often selected by Mr Aakash Yadav, who is a Model, Actor and Image Consultant at Lovely Professional University, also he leads the regular classes that students need to attend from Monday to Friday at 5PM.

LPU students do not get paid for this event, but they gain valuable experience. More importantly, if a modeling agency notices them during the runway, they might get the chance to sign a contract.
